In slow-motion video of the alleged incident posted by Czech Republic’s TV Nova, Blythe and what appears to be a security guard can be seen pushing the fan off the stage and back into the audience. Blythe is facing five to 10 years in prison if convicted of the charge of “bodily harm of the 4th degree and resulting in the death of a fan.”

Mazer said the clip shows someone jumping into the audience, but “it wasn’t Randy that pushed him. The security guard shoved him off the stage.” He also noted that nowhere in the brief video do you see the fan falling to the ground.

Lesson 1: Why there’s no such thing as a left-handed monkey wrench

A few of you may already be laughing, and for those in the same boat as me at age 12 with raised eyebrows and a grin that can only be found on those pretending to be experts, you may be ready to start a search for the best left-handed monkey wrench on the market. That’s exactly what I did. After all, I knew my dad’s store had everything because I had lived through inventory. I marched the customer right over to the wrench section and began to ask, “What size of a left-handed monkey wrench are you looking for?” and “Do you have a color preference?” No one could ever say I wasn’t a good salesperson.

At this point you may think the gentleman would have broken down and told me the simple truth that there is no such thing as a left-handed monkey wrench, but no, he was quite the overall clad, plaid shirted jokester of Northeast Arkansas. He continued to pick up various sizes of monkey wrenches and examined them one by one discerning the left-handed from the right-handed which to me all appeared to be the same. This is where the story begins to sound a little like ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears.’ You know the drill…too small…too big…just right. Ah, finally! The agony of having no idea what I was trying to sell was over and all I had to do was write up his charge ticket. I handed the man his ticket which he signed and chuckled as he walked out the door.

That’s when I decided to show off. “I just sold a left-handed monkey wrench, Dad.” My dad started laughing and then looked down at the ticket I had written for “one left-handed monkey wrench.” He laughed harder and then said to me, “Dear, you just flip the wrench over.”

From that point on, I asked clarifying questions in every situation where I wasn’t 100% positive I understood the customer’s needs. Sometimes the correct answer is staring you right in the face though it may require a new perspective. Lesson learned.
